An update to Webview (which is also used by and built into Chrome) breaks GD so that dictionary articles are no longer displayed. Try to uninstall (or disable if it cannot be uninstalled) Chrome and don't allow Play Store to update it automatically. This is the only way I could fix my GD. GD uses Webview functionality and Chrome's update breaks it.

This is an issue with a silent Google update to Chrome. Google may fix this in the future but until then don't use their latest Chrome.

In my case golden dict crashes. It scans the dicts the first time and after that it crashes every time.
