Hi,
I have two problems.
1. I am trying to show Khmer text on dictionary but couldn't do it. I copied my text to excel file and tried to build with babylon glossary builder and it didn't work. I set text encoding to UTF-8. Is there a any settings for this to work? I am attaching my excel file.

2. I can show Khmer text if I use TAB file and build with stardict editor. However unicode fonts are so small to read. Is there a anyway to increase font size?

This seems to be a problem with babylon glossary builder. If that's the case, you should look for help on their website. This forum is to discuss GoldenDict.

In GoldenDict you can control the font size with a CSS style sheet. Create a article-style.css file with the following text on it:

body { font-size: 26px; }

This assumes you want the font to be 26 pixels. You can also use other lenghts such as percentage and cm. Check the following reference http://www.w3schools.com/cssref/pr_font_font-size.asp
Read viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1186 to know the location where to create article-style.css file so GoldenDict can read it.

@tosbaha, there are also zoom buttons right on the GoldenDict's toolbar. They change the size of the font on the main article view, but if you need to change the sizes of the input field where you type in the words for translation, take a look at the menu: View -> Zoom -> Words Zoom In.

This is in case if you don't want to mess with CSS files.

Thanks for the reply. The best format to use HTML are tab file and babylon file. I have tried to add html but it throwed me couple of errors. I think it is because of new lines in the html code. For the babylon as I said I cant make it to show khmer text to appear. What can you suggest? Is there a any tool to make my html compatible with stardict format. Thanks. I will appreciate if you show me a sample database which has HTMl and Khmer text on it. I am doing this for my students to have English-Khmer Chemistry dictionary. We already made the dictionary by using WIKI and I am try'ng to export it to a dictionary for offline usage. I can supply you whole database if you want to help.

I have tried to use article-style.css file but it doesnt work. I mean I can set some properties for main screen like color and it works. However lang directive doesn't work. Here is my file

How can I make sure that this lan directive works which database is best for this directive? Thanks.

Small example with a couple of typical entries would be good enough to see what kind of dictionary you are dealing with.

This really depends. While I like DSL the most, but for some tasks like rich formatting and tables it is a bit of problematic. But for everything else it works much, much better for me compared to BGL or stardict.

But for Wiki-like formatting DSL might be not adequate, it all depends on what is author of the dictionary trying to achieve and how complicated is the formatting.

I'm not sure that lang-specific formatting is even supposed to work. Have never seen it used like that and my current understanding is that such lang-specific CSS styling of the Qt framework components is not supported. You see, this is not 100% pure CSS we're dealing with, this is CSS-like formatting to style Qt components (Goldendict is Qt based).

So, essentially, you could change the styling globally, for entire application, for all languages, and you cannot have lang-specific styles.

I assume Stardict and Babylon work the same and don't allow to have language specific adjustments, don't they?

I found this style example in the WIKI so it is supported. However I don't know how to make it work. Maybe it is not detecting that it is Khmer text. I changed the font of all program it seems to work but I hope it doesn't affect the whole program. I am trying to make dictionary of http://zischem.wikispaces.com/ Most of the entries are just single text without any formatting. However some of them has some pictures like Acetone topic. As you know in chemistry we deal with subscript and superscripts. Therefore I have to use HTML somehow. I would really love to see working HTML example with any of the database formats. Thanks.
