No. According to http://goldendict.org/wiki/index.php/Development_plans is not in the plans either. You can always ask the developers to add support. But do you have any documentation of the mdx file format? I just checked and couldn't find anything. I also checked that most (if not all of) the dictionaries in MDX format were converted from StarDict or other dictionary formats. So, you'll do better trying to find a dictionary in the original format being that GoldenDict supports very popular formats such as Babylon .bgl and ABBYY Lingvo .dsl. Look here http://goldendict.org/dictionaries.php

Actually .mdx format also has lots of originally created excellent dictionaries.
Currently there are several software that can support .mdx format, like Mdict on Pc, iphone, buledict on Android, etc.
Also Eudict will support .mdx soon on mac OS.
As a powerful dictionary software, why not support this format? As the DIY of this format is very very active in some countries.

Good news for all Mdict users! We got a pull request from a new developer who implemented the full support for the Mdict format (both MDX and MDD files). The change is currently being reviewed. Hurray!

The pull request: https://github.com/goldendict/goldendict/pull/266

MDict support has been recently added to GoldenDict and the development build is available for you to try: viewtopic.php?p=9640#p9640

I don't have any Mdict dictionaries with sound support. You could send me a link, via Private Message, for such dictionary and I could try.

It turned out that it is pretty easy to create your own MDict dictionaries. Just use the official MDX Builder, it even includes a small sample with some media files.
