I do not need to log in. OED sells site subscriptions and as long as one's IP is in the allowed range one (which means most universities or libraries, for example) can access their service transparently. So, for me the links I posted above work with no problems. I also used this same feature with OED in WordWeb (http://wordweb.info/features.html). It worked flawlessly there so I know it can be done. I think the problem is that GoldenDict is not passing the word to OED for whatever reason. So, no search can happen. As I mentioned before, OED does search from GoldenDict when I click on a word in itsWord List when OED Online is in a group with other dictionaries and they provide a list with words to click on.

I appreciate it is tricky for you to test things out if you do not have a subscription...
