Postby botian122 » Tue Dec 01, 2009 4:08 am

My system is Ubuntu 9.10,now I cannot start the Goldendict, it just gave no response. I tried to reinstall ,but it did work, either, help me ...
When I tried to call it in the terminal, it returned information as follows:

Error: unexpected end of file at 1,1
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'Config::exMalformedConfigFile'
what(): The configuration file is malformed
忽略

What`s going on?

Recently I started having this same problem, apparently after a system software update (Not sure which one or when). I attempted the fix "rm ~/.goldendict/config", but it didn't make a difference. I'm getting the error: Query error: XML parse error: "unexpected end of file at 1,1" from English Wiktionary and English Wikipedia, and a 404 page picture from Google En-En (Oxford). The only one that works is Wordnet 3.0 En.

Anyone know the fix for this?

Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
Intel Xeon 3.9 GHz, 8 cores, X79 Chipset
20 GB system memory

Change "http" to "https" for Wiki urls in dictionaries settings.

That fixed everything except the google 404 error. Thanks for the info, you rock!
