Why can't I open my GoldenDict?

Yesterday, I installed GoldenDict in my Windows XP Professional (version 2002, Service Pack 3) system. It was working OK.
Then I started to download Babylon dictionaries. After downloading quite a few, I rescanned them.
Then, GoldenDict crashed never to open again.
I've tried the basics: restarting the machine, uninstalling and reinstalling the software, cleaning the register, but to no avail.
There is no Error message, or something.
When I click in the GoldenDict icon, the software simply doesn't open. It doesn't even show up in the Task Manager.
Any ideas?

Try erasing the "pid" file in C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\GoldenDict. If it didn't help, try erasing the "config" file there.

Furthermore, It is recommended to use the latest build from this topic. It's in Russian, but it's not hard to figure the latest download link.

Yeah! I had a same problem with my GD but in Win7 x64
And for me, the problem was for a configuration file or something like it!
I think this bug should be fixed in the future Win release of GD.

GD = The best Dictionary software I tried ever
