Goldendict on the new Ubuntu 11.04 doesn't work properly...

Hi,
I am a Linux Ubuntu user and the new Ubuntu 11.04 doesn't support system try any more.
Now Ubuntu has "Indicators" and because of that, each time I need to use the dictionary I must execute the program again and again.
So if you find the time, could you please make an "Indicator" for your great program? You will help me a lot.

Please report this to Ubuntu bug tracker. They broke it and it's them who should be fixing it.

All major Linux distributions will very soon move from system try, nor Gnome Shell nor Ubuntu Unity support system try any more....
As I understand, someone should write an Indicator and send you the source and you should merge it with yours?

Yes, that would work as long as the code is reasonably proper and clean.

All Linux users should rather (and probably will) keep away from these blinking pieces of trash DE for the mass.

You can simply whitelist GoldenDict to put them back in the system tray.

1. run dconf-editor
2. navigate to Desktop -> Unity -> Panel
3. change the value of systray-whitelist to

['JavaEmbeddedFrame', 'Mumble', 'Wine', 'Skype', 'hp-systray', 'scp-dbus-service', 'goldendict']

( Just add 'goldendict' item, that's it )
4. Log out and log in.
5. Done
